Accounting Manager

Our company, a leading multi-state wholesale distributor based in Smyrna, GA, is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Accounting Manager to lead our small but essential accounting department. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at multitasking, and possesses strong leadership abilities. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the CFO and collaborate with various departments to ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee customer credit management and ensure timely collections.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and credit card processing reconciliations.
- Prepare and post general ledger entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage non-inventory accounts payable (AP) processing and oversee check runs.
- Oversee monthly sales tax filings and ensure timely updates to sales tax rates.
- Review cash deposits and prepare corresponding cash receipt journal entries.
- Interpret and analyze financial statements to provide insights and recommendations.
- Ensure accurate posting of journal entries within the accounting system.
- Manage insurance certificates of insurance (COIs) and subcontractor documentation.
- Assist with requests for quotes (RFQs) as needed.
- Oversee accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) management.
- Handle mechanic’s lien processing and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Purchasing, and other departments to support operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external CPAs and assist with audits and financial reporting.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting department, with leadership responsibilities.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team to maintain smooth financial operations.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial bookkeeping, and reporting standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex accounting issues.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Pay: $77,014.00 - $90,000.00 per year
