Controller / Finance Director

We’re looking for a Small Business Controller/ Finance Manager who thrives in a hands-on environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. This is a key leadership role supporting both day-to-day accounting and broader business operations. You’ll work closely with and manage an experienced part-time Accounting Assistant and report to the VP of Operations.

🔍 What You’ll Do:

• Oversee and review A/P, A/R, journal entries, and general ledger activity
• Manage payroll and monthly sales commissions (via ADP and Excel)
• Reconcile bank statements and review cash position
• Support annual tax prep with external CPA (single-member LLC)
• Assist with basic HR tasks (no 401k administration)
• Ensure accurate and timely entries across all system
• Oversee Sales & Use Tax for 4 states
• Maintain confidentiality while handling occasional personal finance tasks for the owner

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Solid accounting/finance background in a small business setting with a minimum of 10+ years Exp.
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
• Comfortable with journal entries, payroll, and full-cycle accounting
• Strong Excel skills; experience with inventory a plus
• Discreet, trustworthy, and detail-oriented
• Excellent communicator with a team-first attitude
