Position Overview: As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and compliance for our Construction Services Company. Working closely with the executive team, you will provide strategic insights, financial analysis, and recommendations to drive profitability and sustainable growth. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success and expansion of a rapidly growing company in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support business planning and decision-making processes.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs, analyze variances, and identify opportunities to optimize expenses and improve profitability.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, performance metrics, and trend analysis to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Tax and Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, filings, and reporting requirements. Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
- Process Improvement: Implement and streamline financial processes, controls, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop long-term financial strategies, investment decisions, and risk management initiatives.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team members, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Support special projects, initiatives, and ad hoc analysis as required by senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting, preferably in the construction or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control techniques.
- Experience with ERP systems, financial software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
